*********************************
NBA Live 96 Player Editor v3.1
NBA Live 96 Free-Agent Editor v3.1
NBA Live 96 All-Star Teams Editor v3.0
NBA Live 96 Player Editor Main Menu v3.1 4/10/96
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
by Dave Zolnier
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
TO RUN: Unzip NBAED31.ZIP into your NBA96 directory and type
NBAEDIT to run it. It's...just...that...easy...
(WARNING: Back up your NBA96.EXE and ROSTERS.DAT files!
I am NOT responsible for any damage that you might incur
to your game, to yourself, or anyone else around you.)
Hey, I warned you...
Files included in NBAED31.ZIP:
nbaedit.exe
menu1.exe
menu2.exe
as-edit.exe
schools.exe
appear.exe
clrscr.exe
nbaed31.txt (this file that you're reading now!)
If any of the preceding files are missing, something went wrong!
Don't go outside, call 911, scream for mommy...
Okay, okay, just go find the version that has all
of the above files and you should be okay.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT'S NEW
v3.1 4/15/96 -Players added to All-Star Teams now have correct pictures.
-Fixed bugs with GUI. Some of the data was not displayed
correctly for some reason.
-Minor changes in the coding of certain functions.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
v3.0 4/10/96 -I changed the entire structure of the editors and now they
have a much improved GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE. The arrow
keys now control the editors. I found that this makes
them MUCH easier to use and much, much more efficient.
-Added Shooting Range into the Player and Free-Agent editors.
-New, GUI for Main Menu. Nice, pretty colors, too.
-Basically, everything's new in this version!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3/8/96 -Removed the remnants of the TAI-PAN.438 virus. YIKES!!!
(Scanned and Cleaned with Mcafee Virus Scan 2.28)
FYI, the virus didn't do anything and it just hid
itself in the .EXE files. I virus checked all of the
editors before I uploaded them and then I tested them
on another machine which we originally thought was
clean... Well, that's the last time I trust my friend.
Sorry if I scared anybody! Anyway, this Version of the
editors (v2.0) is VIRUS-FREE and I also made some other
improvements. Time to go beat the sh** out of my friend!
-The Free-Agent editor now supports up to 31, yes 31 total
players. This, as I found out, is the maximum number
of created players that the game supports.
-The All-Star editor now supports the 31 Free-Agent/Created
players just like the Free-Agent Editor does.
-Changed a few bytes in the allocation of data when you put a
new player on an All-Star team. You should now be
able to put any player in any slot on either of the
two All-Star teams and have it work. (Allocation of
the data was a little tricky for the All-Star slots!)
Unfortunately, changing the players' pictures is still
a bit tricky and I'm now working on that. Yes, that
means that, right now, you can't change the pictures
of the All-Stars. Whaaah, go cry to mommie!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3/6/96 -All of the Editors, along with the Main Menu, may now be
found together in one file called NBA96ED1.ZIP.
I found this to be an easier way to distribute
all of the files and make sure nobody misses
out on anything.
-Well, I decided to include a Main Menu to facilitate
using all of the editors and to better manage
the files and changes. You'll want to run that
instead of the other, individual editors.
-The Free-Agent Editor (v2.0) now supports 20 players.
I think that there may be more, but I'll look
into that...
-I added the soon-to-be-famous All-Star Teams Editor(v1.0)
which allows you to put any existing player
(including Free-Agents) onto the All-Star teams.
All pictures, ratings, and stats show up correctly
for the players added to the All-Star teams.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
**** NBA LIVE 96 PLAYER EDITOR v3.1 ****
This Player Editor will allow you to change any of the attributes
for all of the existing players in the game. The editor has the
ability to change:
* First Names, Last Names, Nicknames
* Date of Birth, Place of Birth (yes they're in there!)
* All stats for the previous year
* All player ratings, including Stamina
* Jersey #, Height, Weight, Appearance, Skin Color
* I'm sure I forgot something, but I'll find it...
NOTE: As for this year's rookies, their stats will show up as 0's.
If you want to edit the rookies so that they perform as they
really do this year, just input this year's NBA stats for
the rookies as their player stats for last year.
(Just replace all the 0's with this year's stats...)
